Day six: Manapouri to Dunedin

Surprisingly we were up early, packed and ready to head off on our journal to Dunedin by 8:30

Today’s theme is Boho.

First stop: Lumsden.  Had an amazing bunch at ‘Route 6 cafe and bar’.

Interesting fact: one of the biggest bank robbery in NZ happened in Lumsden in 1987.
$107K was taken from the BNZ.  This started a series of events that included murder and suicide.

Next stop,  Roxburgh, which is in the Teviot valley on the banks of the Clutha river
and more importantly,  the birth place of Louise.

We did manage to get some shopping in before doing a drive by Louise’s homes and her primary school.  We explored the local cemetery and Louise left some flowers for her mum and dad.

And it goes without saying,  before leaving we did stop and shop at ‘Jimmy’s pies’.

Sharing the road with the locals.

Destination Dunedin and our accommodation ‘the Chapal’.

We dined at Vault 21, which was very scrumptious.

Will explore Dunedin more tomorrow.
